Desde este lunes 07 de mayo, Paraguay participa del Foro Internacional de la Comisión Económica de las Naciones Unidas para Europa (CEPE) sobre los Proyectos de Participación Público Privados (PPP) prioritarios para los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS). El importante evento se desarrolla en la ciudad de Ginebra, Suiza hasta el próximo 09 de mayo del corriente.

El Director General de la Unidad de Alianza Público Privada (APP), de la Secretaría Técnica de Planificación del Desarrollo Económico y Social (STP), Daniel Escauriza participa de dicho encuentro y de la reunión del grupo de trabajo de la CEPE, compuesto por más de 50 Unidades de APP en todo el mundo.

El objetivo del evento es aumentar gradualmente el impacto del programa de APP en cumplimiento de la Agenda de los ODS 2030 mediante el avance del trabajo en una serie temas como, por ejemplo, la discusión de algunos principios fundamentales, tales como reglas de adquisición abiertas, justas y transparentes, que deberían apuntalar los proyectos de infraestructura.

Además de decidir sobre formas efectivas de implementar los estándares existentes, incluyendo uno sobre el enfoque de tolerancia cero para la corrupción en APP y los Principios Rectores sobre las PPP con enfoque en los ciudadanos, y elaborar una estrategia sobre cómo el sector privado en la industria de APP y en otros lugares podría liderar el avance de los temas de empoderamiento de las mujeres en los ODS.

Finalmente se busca ampliar el trabajo de creación de capacidades APP emprendido por el Centro Internacional de Excelencia PPP, con la participación de otras agencias de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU), el Banco Mundial (BM) y las instituciones financieras internacionales.
