La empresa chilena del rubro marítimo portuario, Somarco ha presentado oficialmente el proyecto que pretende dar una alternativa al transporte público a través del río. La misma fue entregada a la Secretaría Técnica de Planificación del Desarrollo Económico y Social (STP) en la mañana de este miércoles,  06 de noviembre del año en curso.

En ese contexto, los representantes de la empresa fueron recibidos por el ministro secretario ejecutivo de la STP, Carlos Pereira Olmedo quien refirió que la institución evaluará la propuesta a través del equipo de técnicos de la Secretaría.

Los mismos presentaron una carpeta que contenía todos los detalles del plan, además de los resultados de todos los estudios realizados, es decir, del impacto ambiental, social, económico entre otros.

El proyecto busca ejecutarse bajo la modalidad de Alianzas Público Privadas (APP) teniendo como fin el traslado de pasajeros desde la capital a varias ciudades del área metropolitana, uniendo Asunción con Villeta, San Antonio, Lambaré, Puerto Pabla y Villa Hayes.

El encuentro también fue propicio para analizar otros posibles proyectos de inversión que puedan dar solución a una problemática social de años, que tiene importantes repercusiones económicas para el país como lo es la crecida del Río Paraguay y, actualmente el descenso vertiginoso de las aguas.

El ministro Pereira señaló que desde el gobierno están muy interesados en proponer un plan que brinde una solución real a dicha problemática y que la experiencia de los expertos de la importante empresa chilena sería un gran apoyo.

Los empresarios también se reunirán con el ministro de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones (MOPC), Arnoldo Wiens, para comunicar todo lo relacionado al plan y los procesos que este atraviesa con la primera evaluación desde la STP.
